Why not just ask a chatbot?
You can, and you'll get plenty of ideas. Just not niches.
Same AI. Different research.
A chatbot runs a few searches and reads whatever ranks highest. For business ideas, that's mostly articles repeating the same well-worn suggestions, so everyone who asks gets much the same answer.
Although we employ the same technology, what differentiates us is our research system, built for a single job: finding problems that customers keep raising and nobody has fixed.
How we find a niche
Behind every card is a research system of our own:
- Our algorithm. Our own scoring system decides whether a problem is worth building a business on, including an analysis of how well what's already on sale solves it. Only problems that pass every one of our tests become cards.
- Our prompts. Detailed instructions guide every job the AI does, from the reading of single complaints to the making of the strongest case against any provisional idea. Our prompts are tested before we apply them, on complaints we've already assessed by hand, to check that the AI reaches the same answers.
- Our sources. We choose exactly where to look and what to look for, and update both every week. We find problems where customers describe them, in reviews, questions and comments, then check them against trusted news and trade reporting.
- Our records. The thousands of complaints we read each week join an ongoing record, so we can spot problems as they grow.
They're what turn a pile of complaints into an idea worth testing, and they stay in-house.
Evidence on every card
You don't have to take our word for it. Every card shows:
- how many different people raised the problem, on how many sites, and how many in the last 90 days
- links to where they said it
- the fixes already on sale, and why they fall short
- the case against the idea

Where a chatbot does help
Once you've picked your idea, a chatbot is a great assistant for the work itself: writing product listings, planning your first test, drafting supplier emails. Use it for that.
